“Oh … wow look here’s you having sex with a guy in the top half of a Chewbacca costume … Comic Con?” – Leonard “Yeah it’s kinda based on my life?” – Alice “I don’t know, she could be lost.” – Stuart “What is she doing in a comic book store?” – Raj “Hot girl … nine o’clock don’t everyone look at once.” – Stuart “ ‘See you in Hell Sheldon’ … The most frightening part about that is the missing comma.” – Sheldon These were my favorites … Did I miss one of yours? It’s not the time to revisit that relationship either.Īs usual, BBT was chock full of great quotes this week. Full disclosure: I’m totally on the Leonard and Penny bandwagon, but I like that they’re not together at this point. Keeping him attached to a woman 7,500 miles away limits the stories that can be told, because, at some point, we’re going to run out of long-distance relationship clichés to highlight. His dalliance with Alice proved that he’s got some game, even if it’s the Atari 2600 “The Empire Strikes Back” cartridge version of game. I’ve never much understood the relationship between Priya and Leonard, especially now that she is overseas. I love Sheldon, and his attempts to get back at his friends were pitch perfect. He might as well have worn a shirt that said “I’m playing a practical joke on you” for as good as he was at playing things low key. It wasn’t that they weren’t well thought out (save the snake in the desk drawer bit), it was just that he telegraphed them so completely. I love that his affectations caused him to fail at every practical joke that he played (until the end). Sheldon has to be the dumbest smart guy on TV. Thankfully, this episode of The Big Bang Theory did neither and delivered some great laughs. Most shows that pay homage to All Hallow’s Eve tend to go a bit overboard, letting the “special” part of the episode get in the way of their narrative or their comedy. The classics are mostly always held in high regard, even in this day and age.I love a good “theme” episode as much of the next guy, but I always get worried about what’s going to be on television come Halloween each year. The Simpsons’ average weekly ratings is at it’s all time lowest this season, and I think that’s because the generations that saw the birth of the series (those that contributed to the highest ratings it ever achieved), have grown tired of the PC and pop culture pandering and the trying-to-keep-up-with-Family-Guy aspect. In addition they had family guy as a competition. I’ve found that the reason some things stand the test of time is because they don’t always pander to cultural change. Now i I feel it’s about Lisa and political correctness. The Simpson’s used to focus a bit more on the family unit (even though it was a dysfunctional one) like when bart chooses homer over mr burns at the end of one episode. Classic Lisa always had a certain disdain for pop culture icons. Lisa’s characterisation lately is really off as well. Now it’s all like “oooooh Lady Gaga’s in town!”. It had a certain charm that didn’t pertain to celebrity pop culture pandering (even though it was a celebrity voice). Bergstrom, having James Earl Jones voicing Bleeding Gums Murphy (recurring character in the first few seasons), The Simpsons Family and Bazinga shirt the writers set up side characters for guest voices to appear as, with their own character traits. Having Dustin Hoffman voicing a substitute teacher called Mr. Having Michael Jackson voicing an insane guy who thought he was Michael Jackson. Speaking of pop culture, how the first few seasons dealt with celebrity appearances was a stroke of genius. The Simpsons Family and Bazinga Sweatshirt The Simpsons Family and Bazinga Longsleeve Tee The Simpsons Family and Bazinga Ladies Tee The Simpsons Family and Bazinga shirt The episodes Do It For Her and Lisa’s First Word, make me shed a tear because not only do we see Homer’s heartfelt side, it reminds me of the connection I have with my own little (not)Maggie. Not always getting it right and my sense of logic may seem a bit absurd in some situations, but I love and care for my family on a very immense level, my fiancé even says, in a loving manner, that I am Homer). I feel I can relate to (being a dad who does all that he can for his family.
